In all honesty, I've never been a huge fan of her music, which I believe actually lends more to the sincerity of these comments regarding her talent for art. With this much talent shown as an amateur, one can imagine how far she can go as an artist should she pursue it in earnest. From these paintings alone, she demonstrates a firm grasp of perspective, light and color - especially color. That's evident by way of comparison between her sketches (less impressive but nonetheless, still astonishing show of talent for an amateur) and her refined water color and oil paintings. Furthermore, these paintings demonstrate an interest and a solid understanding of a multitude of mediums. More importantly, they show an appreciation for an eclectic array of genres, from still life to portraits, to Chinese classical and any whim beyond that is fair game... which should allow for plenty of exploration and growth. This new found fan is thoroughly enthralled by such talent and readily looking forward to her upcoming work. |
