After Vivian left the entertainment circle, she has been lowkey. Actually, she has been secretly practicing painting recently this year. Vivian's painting "Old Man from San Geung" is recently showing at the HK Cultural Center in Tsim Sha Tsui for the "New Vision: Water Based Media Paintings" exhibition, and this painting won the "New Vision Award."

"Seen her book of paintings/drawings"
Vivian's work of art is currently showing at the HK Cultural Center in the exhibition hall. Vivian's teacher, Shum Ping, also has a painting in the exhibition. According to the teacher, Vivian is in Canada right now.

Yesterday James Wong was hosting his Metro radio show "James's Happy Gang" with special guest Ku Ga Fai. Regarding Vivian winning an award for her painting, James smiled and said, "She's always had talent in art. I even wanted to introduce a teacher to her. I remember in the past I saw her book of paintings/drawings and know that her biggest dream was to give birth to kids to create a soccer team."

Also yesterday, Vivian's god-brother Hacken Lee said, "I knew early on that she won an award. All of Asia knows she's become lowkey, so that's why she didn't go get her award. Actually painting would be better for her than singing." Would Hacken ask Vivian to make a painting for him? Hacken smiled and said, "No, I don't think so. Save it for Joe Ngai."

(Note from a reliable source: There is no book of paintings/drawings, and Vivian did not think about giving birth to a soccer team. The news was not true. James was just kidding about the soccer team, but the reporters took him seriously and thought it was for real).

Hacken Lee is envious of Vivian Chow being able to have a lifestyle like a goddess

Hacken Lee tried to invite Vivian to be his guest at his concert next year, but in the end she refused!
Vivian's "Old Man from San Geung" painting at the "Water Based Media Paintings" exhibition won the 'New Vision Award.' Yesterday at the "New Digital Age of Hong Kong" press conference, Hacken Lee, being Vivian's god-brother, stated that he knew early on that Vivian was very talented in art. He said, "Vivian likes to be lowkey. She purposely didn't go to receive the award. All of Asia knows that she is the most lowkey entertainer!"

Hacken also revealed that he wanted to invite Vivian to be his special guest at his concert next year, but she refused! He said, "She is now living a lifestyle of a goddess. I feel that with Vivian painting, she has more development space than singing." (Reporter: "Did you ask her to help you paint a painting of yourself?") "No, I didn't. Save her talent for Joe Ngai!"

Early in her entertainment career, she published a book of paintings/drawings
James Wong revealed that early on in Vivian's career, she published a book of paintings. James said, "Inside her book of paintings, she wrote that she would like to give birth to a soccer team. If this is for real, I think the team members would definitely be very beautiful!"

(Note from a reliable source: There is no book of paintings/drawings, and Vivian did not think about giving birth to a soccer team. The news was not true. James was just kidding about the soccer team, but the reporters took him seriously and thought it was for real).

James Wong revealed Vivian wanted to give birth to a soccer team
(abridged version of actual article)

James Wong and Ku Ga Fai. James is on the left side.
James Wong Jim has always treated his god-daughter Vivian Chow with love and care. When James found out Vivian's painting was in an art exhibition, he not only praised Vivian about her talent, but also revealed that Vivian hopes to give birth to a soccer team (have lots of kids).

Yesterday, this newspaper exclusively reported that Vivian's painting "Old Man from San Geung" was at the Hong Kong Cultural Center in an art exhibition, and this painting won the "New Vision" award. When reporters told James about this, he immediately had a big reaction and stated, "Oh really? Which newspaper reported it? I haven't read the newspaper yet. Vivian has always been very talented in painting/drawing. After she stepped out of the entertainment business, she continued to paint. I think she's learning from a teacher now." (Reporter: "Did she give you a painting?") "Not yet, but I have seen them." Also, when reporters asked James about whether Vivian is thinking about starting a class and accepting students, James immediately revealed, "No, I haven't heard her mention that before. But in the past she had a book of paintings/drawings, and in the book, she said her dream is to give birth to a soccer team." (Reporter: "Then have you rushed her?") "No, I wouldn't dare rush her."

(Note from a reliable source: There is no book of paintings/drawings, and Vivian did not think about giving birth to a soccer team. The news was not true. James was just kidding about the soccer team, but the reporters took him seriously and thought it was for real).

Vivian Chow's "Old Man from San Geung" painting won the "New Vision" award

Vivian's "Old Man from San Geung" painting is very life-like, and was awarded the "New Vision Award."

"Jade Girl Master" Vivian not only can sing and act, but can also paint.

Vivian's painting "Old Man from San Geung" (circled) is in the Hong Kong's Cultural Center at the "Water Based Media Paintings" exhibition.

Ever since leaving the entertainment circle towards the end of 1997, Vivian Chow has been resting very well; her lifestyle was lowkey, and she rarely leaves her home. In the past, Vivian was named "Jade Girl Master" and was successful in acting in movies and in TV series as well as singing, being a DJ, and doing advertisements/commercials. Actually, Vivian is not only very good at acting in movies and singing, but she's also very good at drawing/painting and could be called an artist (an artist who paints/draws). Vivian's painting has appeared in an art exhibition.

Recently in the Hong Kong's Cultural Center at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Festival "New Vision: Water Based Media Paintings" exhibition, this newspaper reporter saw a painting called "San Geung Lo Yung" (Old Man from San Geung), and the name of the artist is Vivian Chow. Vivian's painting is very good and looks very real. This painting was given the "New Vision Award" (literal translation is "New Age Visual Art Award") and is worth celebrating.

Painting was chosen to be on the cover of the painting exhibition pamphlet
At the "Water-based Media Paintings Exhibition," there were 50 paintings total, of which 30 paintings were invited to participate in the exhibition, and the other 20 paintings were in an open competition. Vivian's painting "Old Man from San Geung" was part of the competition. The results of the competition was decided after the judges evaluated the paintings. Vivian's painting "Old Man from San Geung" and 2 paintings from other artists who won the "New Vision" award were chosen to be on the painting exhibition promotional pamphlet.

Influenced by Joe Ngai to show her talent
Vivian's boyfriend Joe Ngai has a nickname of "choi ji" (talented child). Vivian might have been influenced by her boyfriend and is switching to work in the field of arts; her talent in drawing/painting has taken a new direction. Researching back to some old data, early on in Vivian's career in the entertainment business, she had stated that when she was a child, she really liked to draw. Drawing was not only her hobby; she learned how to draw all by herself without a teacher. Drawing/painting gave her a very relaxing feeling, very free. She enjoyed drawing people, and she stated that when she was very young, she took on the job of being an art teacher. We can see that Vivian is very talented in drawing/painting.

Person responsible for painting exhibition praises Vivian for her talent
Old man in painting is real-looking

The person responsible for the painting exibition, Gwai Yuk Nin, feels that Vivian is using China's traditional free-hand drawing technique in her painting "Old Man from San Geung." He thinks the technique and the work of the drawing is very good, and said, "The painting caught the characteristic of the old man, and the characteristic and "taste" of the old man gives a feeling of the lifestyle in a village. The old man seems to be enjoying his life, as it seems that he doesn't need anything at all, and the painting is able to express the old man's inner world. The painting is very professional."

Learning by herself
Gwai Yuk Nin also felt that Vivian has really good basic painting skills, guessing that she's under the "Hok Yuen Paai" school branch. In terms of painting technique, between items and scenery, painting a person is the hardest to handle. Gwai Yuk Nin also said, "Talking about this painting achievement, if she hasn't officially learned how to paint, then it's possible this artist is very talented. If Vivian really learned painting/drawing by herself, then I would encourage her to do more paintings.

Vivian's "Old Man from San Geung" and 2 paintings from other artists who won awards were chosen to be on the pamphlet promoting the painting exhibition.
